Beach Wedding -cheap Favors
You can make your own beach wedding favors quickly and inexpensively from items that you can find at any craft store. These are popular at weddings and your guests will love them. These take no time at all to make and can be made in a matter of several hours.
Sea Shell Candle Favors:
Things that you will need:
Seashells – you will want to get sea shells that you can pour wax in. You can choose from a variety of different shapes of shells that will hold wax. You can get these at craft stores, or if you live by the beach you can pick them up off the sand yourself. Another way to get them is to purchase them online, you can find these at auctions and websites that sell craft supplies.
Wax – You can buy this in complementing colors to match your wedding, or you can even buy beeswax that will be clear and you will be able to see the shell. To make different colors of wax shred up some crayons for color variations. Add the crayon shreds in after you have the majority of wax melted then stir it to mix.
Wicks – Each candle will have small wick attached to it. You can get these at the craft store also with the candle wax.
Glitter – You can use glitter, just a little bit to each candle to make them sparkle in the light. You won’t want to overdo it but just a little glitter will make the candle shine.
How make the candle wedding favor:
You will want to melt the wax for your candles. Melting the wax is easy. The wax they should have the instructions on the package that will take you step by step to make the wax and pour it, but if not you will want to use a double boiler that you will melt the wax in, once you have the wax melted you will want to pour and fill the shell with wax, You don’t need the wax boiling, just enough to make it hot enough to melt and to pour it. Once the wax is hot and melted you can then add broken up crayons to add color if you want to add color. The more crayons you add the darker the wax will be. Wax will harden darker than it is when it’s setting.
To add the wick you can buy the little wick holders at the craft store or add it when the wax is setting up and it will stay in place.
When the wax is almost set and ready – add a little glitter to each candle. If you want the glitter throughout the candle wax – then just add the glitter the same time as you would add the broken crayons when the wax is hot.
These will make cute little candles that you can give as favors for each guest. They will be inexpensive and easy to make.
